Health
Medical care in Spain is as good as in other EU countries. EU citizens are entitled to medical treatment in all EU countries. However, an insurance card is not enough. You need to fill in an E-111 form, which you can get from any health insurance company. However, even in this case, you must expect to pay a co-payment, which is quite high in other EU countries. In Spain, the co-payment is 40% of the price of the medication. It is therefore advisable to pay extra for commercial insurance.
Even though you will be insured, you may have to pay cash for treatment. In this case, keep all the receipts and receipts you will need for reimbursement in your country. At pharmacies, pay in cash and again ask for receipts.
There is no risk of serious illness in Spain and no vaccinations are recommended for your stay. Rather, watch your hygiene habits and eat in street fast food joints. The water in our house is drinkable, so don't worry about drinking unpackaged water or avoiding ice in your drinks. In any case, it is advisable to pack basic headache, cold, nausea and medication that you normally take. Herpes ointment, sunscreen, panthenol, or eye drops are also useful.
